8 Summits in 4 Days

ALL, OTHER

As you all very well know, I love the North American west. The canyons, prairies, mountains, lakes; there is no shortage of places where I can truly feel at one with nature. Deborah and I used to live in Calgary and seven years “out there in the west” made the Canadian Rockies literally our backyard and our home. It was quite hard for me to move out of such incredible scenery, and ever since we moved to Toronto in 2010, I have always felt the need to go back and reconnect.

Only the two of us on the mountain …

As a well established tradition now, I travel back to the Rockies every year for a week or so to visit my best friend and to spend some quality time in the backcountry by myself. Sometimes I explore new areas, peaks, and lakes, but sometimes I just enjoy revisiting places where I used to roam freely in peace and tranquility.

As I plan to do a solo SUP mega-adventure in the Bahamas next month, I figured I should fill my time of this year’s expedition with some rigorous exercise to tune up my fitness. In the end, I climbed 8 peaks in 4 days and, as expected, I had lot of fun. I love this corner of the world!
