Ice Caves of Toronto

ALL, OTHER

Forrest Of Icicles

It was another beautiful cold winter afternoon where blue skies and sunshine dominated the mood of the day. The freezing temperatures and the stillness of the air caused streams of vapor to rise above the water surface of Lake Ontario. I left my kitesurfing gear at home for a change and went out for a walk with my camera.

As I walked along the lake shore, I marveled at various ice formations sculptured by the surf. And then I noticed an opening in the ice that resembled a small ice cave. After I kicked a few icicles away and crawled in, I knew I had my shot! The ice cracking underneath me and the water sloshing nearby was a bit nerve-wracking but I couldn’t get enough of my new burrow. Ice caves in Toronto? This winter just keeps on giving!
